Hedgerow Surveys

PENNINE ecological undertake hedgerow surveys in relation to the Hedgerow Regulations (1997). This standard survey is aimed at identifying important hedgerows.

We have devised a standard recording method for hedgerow surveys which collects all the data required to assess the importance of hedgerows. This includes recording data such as; species diversity, features such as hedge banks, historical evidence of laying, connectivity scores and may other associated features.

All native hedgerows are now classified as UK Priority Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) habitats.

PENNINE ecological have undertaken numerous hedgerow surveys across England, Wales and the Isle of Man. These include significant strategic surveys for linear developments such as pipeline routes and new road schemes.
